I have several VFT and something has spread from one of them to all of them
in the past couple of months.
The traps are deformed and twisted, shortly after they emerge from the
ground, when the stalk is 1/2 - 3/4 inches high, and the trap is still
folded down and 1/4 inch long.
The traps dont grow properly and sime die off.
In addition there are holes that form on varios parts of the leaves
(petioles) and they turn black and the plant rots.
Ive tried the Ortho home Orchard WP (Captan, Malathion), Daconil, and even
Rose Pride (for black spot on roses - maybe it was a mistake if it has a
damaging sticking agent). Nothing seems to work.
Is there a danger to the plant if its sparyed with twice the dosage?
I'll try some Cleary 3336 WP next.
Its frustrating because all but one of the the VFT (in separate pots) were
doing very well untill a few weeks ago. I dont think its an insect, and if
its not a fungus, what could it be? Ive used the same soil mix for my other
CPs (Sarracenia & Drosera) and they are fine.
