Darlingtonia

Hi all, 4-2-93

For those of you in the Bay/Sacramento areas; I saw some Darlingtonia
plants for sale in a flower/plant shop last weekend at the factory outlet
stores near the Nut Tree Restaurant (nr Vacaville). They are in plastic
bags with a little live sphagnum moss to cover the roots. They looked
healthy though ... must have been a fresh shipment. Cost was $3.99 for
plants 12 to 14 inches. They also had VFTs for $3.99 - the typical small
ones in the plastic cases. I can't remember the name of the store, but I
only saw one plant store in the shopping center. Drop me a line for more
details if you are interested. I didn't get any myself because I don't
know if I could care for them properly at this time with my growing
setup.

I've got many drosera seeds germinating; thanks to our host Rick. The
Sarracenia are sending up pitchers. Also, my D. spatulata is sending a
flower stalk. All the activity is great to see.

Best regards,
Gary
