Yes, we have two species of _Mimulus_ within 80km of my house.
Unfortunately the summer is starting up so all the low desert plants
that are fragile are returning to tubers, corms, seed, etc. But in the
mountains I know of a place where I can play with another species. Late
July we'll head up into this mountain canyon to search for a very rare
plant in flower---_Lilium parryi_---that I found in flower last year.
This is one of only two stations I've read of in Arizona, and the other
is owned by the Nature Conservancy.
