more on the orchid

I have it sitting here at work, here's the desc.:

Leaves are green, succulent, and 1.5" wide. Habit
is upright, flat at the stalk with the leaves growing
left to right (axially?), opening from flatness to
relative flatness at the end of the leaf, which is
about 6" from the center of the stalk. There is a
single scape, green with lots of dark reddish
speckling. The scape is hirsute. The scape
terminates in a single flower, which projects from
a light green sleeve, which colorwise blends into
the speckled part of the scape. The flower is
reddish, speckled on the vertical petal (which
is white blending to yellow at the base), and
red edged with yellow on the two horizontal petals.
The cup in the middle is about the size of a mans'
distal thumb joint. The sexual parts of the flower
are just barely above the front lip of the cup,
viewed from the front, and the visible parts look
vaguely bat-winged shape in a circular pattern.
The plant is potted in fine orchid bark, but there
is no visible bulb, nor is there any visible roots.

I think I'm going to leave this sitting on my desk
at work by the window and see how it does. At home
I don't have a well lit place to put it.

Thanks,

R.
