Help!

I just received an order from Orgel Bramblett (of Orgel's Orchids fame),
and in addition to the cp, he threw in a free plant. It's an
"Oeceoclades Maculata," and I have *no* idea how to grow it. it came
loosely packed in sphagnum moss, so I planted it in more sphagnum...but
it has these off-white spidery looking appendages, kinda stringy, and
although they "hang down" from the rhizome, they sure don't look like
roots. Should they be buried in the planting media, or lie on top of
it?

I know this is not a cp question, but I have nowhere else to turn! What do I
do with this plant?? Help!!!!!!!!
