I also have the spotted variety, so I assume we have the cuttings from
the same plant. Well, it seems to me that it's more of a pitcher size
thing than plant size. The pitcher right before the lidless one was
about 1+1/2" long. The lidless one was about 1+3/4" long and much
fatter, but the one following it was perhaps 3-4" long.

This plant deserves a plug. I've been amazed by N. Alata's growth in a
houseplant situation. I'm growing it in a windowsill and it is constantly
producing pitchers. As soon as the new leaf is produced, the pitcher will
immediately begin to form. In fact, I like it so much, I bought another
one for my windowsill at work.
