Kirk, you are fortunate to live in the SF Bay Area. There are a
number of people "locally" (in San Jose, and at Mark West Vineyards
near Guerneville) who sell CP. Many, many species of CP can be
grown outdoors year round, providing you keep them from taking
frost in the winter. All North American species (such as flytraps,
pitcher plants, butterworts, sundews, & bladderworts) can be grown
outdoors, and most plants can survive frost once established. There
is also the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society, which meets 4 times
a year (next meeting is in October I think).

Mail order plant suppliers can be obtained from the listserver.
