Leo Song's cp mix

Hi all:

I was talking to a cp enthusiast the other day who raved about Leo Song's
cp mix - 1 part #120 silica sand, 4 parts peat moss. He recommended it
for pretty much everything, saying that it gives a fluffy mix without the
need for perlite. I'm interested on comments from those who have used
this mixture to see how it works for various plants. How critical is the
grit of the sand? I have found sourced for "20 grit" and "30 grit" both.
I can get the 30 grit a little cheaper, and in smaller quantities, but
don't know if difference is critical. I recall hearing of this mixture
somewhere before, but don't remember where. Thanks for any help.
