Barry,
Pitcher di(or rather poly-)morphism is known in scientific circles for a long
time in _Nepenthes_. At least Danser tries to describe the different types
of pitchers on rosettes, short shoots, and long shoots for each species. So
this finding is not new and not Jebb's original invention. Most (or all?)
_Nepenthes_ species produce inflorescences from the long shoots only.
It's a pity Jebb didn't find satisfactory material of his spec. nov. He should
look for that species himself.
Kind regards
Jan
