Indochina (SE continental Asia excl. Malaysia) does home 3 (not quite alot)
species of _Nepenthes_, as far as I know:

_N.mirabilis_ (*very* boring, widespread)
_N.anamensis_ (moderately boring, endemic to Indochina)
_N.thorelii_ (rather interesting, maybe your "bizarre specimen", endemic to
Indochina)

The other "species" described from that region so far are synonyms of one
of the first two. I do not expect any really thrilling new discoveries
there. But never say "never"!

Kind regards
Jan
