Mark Stowe's question about CP prey brought up an example of VFT's
getting double duty out of their prey. This fall my VFT's (grown outside)
were capturing a variety of insects (flys, beetles, ants, etc). After
digesting the prey the traps opened as usual to expose the insect remains.
Resident arachnids (Harvestmen, Grandaddy-Long-Legs, ((_Opilionids_)) then
tried to make off with the remains, with predictable (fatal) results. The
traps with 'Daddy-long-legs were always easy to spot, its hard to miss 5 cm
of legs protruding from a trap!
Happy Thanksgiving to the US folks!
