Jan's CP Worldlist Update

Several people have written with questions about the RTF format
used in Jan's CP Worldlist. Since RTF format is not supported on
most UNIX machines, I have found a program to convert
Jan's RTF-format CP Worldlist into several common formats.

The cp archive now has a pure ascii version of Jan's worldlist
called "jans.txt", and a troff format version called "jans.ms".
The original file, "jans.rtf" is also still available.

The troff version is a fairly faithful translation, but the
ascii version loses all the character and font changes. This means
there is no way to tell which names are valid since all boldface
characters are mapped into the regular font.

You can get the file of your choice by sending the command:

get cp <filename>

to the address: "listserv@opus.hpl.hp.com". These are fairly large
files so they will be sent back to you in 5 to 10 separate messages.

BTW: Jan, your name comes up often in CP conversation around here.
Do you pronounce it like "yawn" with a soft "j", or like in a way that
rhymes with "pan"?
