Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I will be moving my growing
area into the basement during the winter. At least that way they will
still get some light and cool temperatures. I tried successfully to keep
them in the refridgerator during one winter. My second attempt wasn't as
successful and I lost some pinguicula. By Springs I plan to have a metal
halide lighting system down there. Maybe that way the pitcher plants
won't be as spindly as they were under the flourescents I used. The
Drosera tracyi also produced weak spindly growth when I moved it away
from the south window. It had grown too big for my little window shelves.
If anyone can suggest what type of nepenthes a beginner might start with
I'd like to know. I hope to add some of those to my collection. Thanks!
John
