Regards germinating Sarracenia - when I first joined the list a year
or two ago, I mentioned that I had germinated them by sowing on wet
peat/sand and then freezing in the ice compartment of the domestic
fridge. I was following the instructions from Chiltern Seeds. Since
being told that most people don't freeze them, and that most species
come from areas where it doesn't freeze, I have reverted to just
giving them a period in the non-freezing compartment in the fridge.
This proved equally successful (apart from one pot of purpurea which
have still not germinated), but I just though I would say the
freezing is not necessarily fatal.
