Re Grow boxes

I suppose that only the top and front panels of a grow box need be
made of transparent material, if it is to be used indoors under lights.
If the sides and back are constructed from opaque white-colored material
the plants should benefit from light reflected off these surfaces back
into the box. In fact, the very photon-frugal might build doors, painted
white on the inside, to close over the front panel when the box is not being
viewed. (silver mylar has also been advocated for its reflective property).
