I sent the photographs in JPEG for a few reasons:

1.)
The more modern Browsers like Netscape or QuaterdeckMosaic can view
JPEG.

2.)
JPEG is a much more modern format than GIF. It is a high quality
compression format which is able to compress a file to one tenth of
it's original file size. This alreday gives very good quality with
less than 100 kbyte. In contrast to GIF, JPEG offers true colour!

3.)
JPEG is in the process of becoming something like a new standard for
offering pictures on the World Wide Web. Big companies like Kodak
(www.kodak.com) already offer JPEG pictures. BTW Kodak displays a
very fine selection of wildlife photographs among other pictures.

If you do not have Netscape which is really better than Mosaic
for many features you may download it from and give it a try:

http://home.netscape.com

It's freeware for private use!

All the best

Andreas
