Going through some older messages and didn't notice a reply...
I have seen this with S. flava before, interestingly, very rarely with any
other species. I don't think there is cure for that pitcher; once it has
hardened off after opening that is pretty much it. It doesn't seem to me to
reflect any serious or long term problem. I finally decided it may have to do
with local conditions while the pitcher is opening - maybe a little dry or low
humidity. The next pitcher from that plant should be fine.
