The adelae might not be dead--they seem to be much tougher plants
than their Queensland cousins, but if you have any concern, use the
roots for cuttings which should be producing new leaves within a
relatively short time, or simply decapitate the entire plant. I got
two unhealthy adelae plants a while back, and, after moving them into
better conditions, I decapitated them, and they're now producing
healthy leaves almost as quickly as a smaller one I got back in the
winter.
