as far as I know, Brita Filters, are based on active carbon filters.
They, probably, do a good job on organic compounds. I would not
expects to much for salts.
BTW: Brita filters have been quite recently in discussion due to
possible mold growth within the filter and possible health risks
(not for the plants but for the human end user).
