I've recently joined the listing from Devon, England. I've been growing CPs for about 15 years, mostly interested in
Droseras. Now practising with tuberous Droseras.
Having seen the damage that peat extraction causes I'm keen to find an alternative. I've tried coir compost, well
washed, pH adjusted to 5.0-6.0, but the plants (drosera, utric., dionea, pinguicula) gradually fade away. Only
sarracenia purpurea seems to accept the conditions.
Has anyone any ideas why? Are there any other compost bases I can try?
