Dear Gordon,

The sub-carnivorous status of some Sarraceniaceae is at present based on
little more than insufficient knowledge, so this is not commented in the
db. Anyway, no endogeneous hydrolytic activity has been demonstrated (i.e.
it has not been demonstrated that it is absolutely absent!) in _Heliamphora
nutans, H. ionasii, H. minor, & H. heterodoxa_ (incl. all respective
infraspecific taxa), i.e. the eastern group. _Darlingtonia_ seems to lack
endogeneous proteolytic activity. The proteolytic properties (if present)
of _Ibicella_ are not sufficiently proved. All other plants in the db not
marked "non-carnivorous" are considered "real" carnivores.

Kind regards
Jan
