But - for P. villosa - on the N.A. continent it's just opposite. Its
distribution reaches more southwards on the W coast than on the E coast.

The four subspecies of P. longifolia incl. P. fiorii are considerably more
different from each other than e.g. P. leptoceras from P. balcanica or
even P. vulgaris. I think it's no longer evident to maintain the taxon P.
longifolia s. l. I will discuss that with Casper in the next weeks.
