Hi All,
I have received my first N. Rajah plant, and it is looking very
pleased
with itself, only small but it only cost me 20 pounds. It has new stems
springing from every leaf axil they can and it even has 2 crowns!!
Anyway, what I really meant to ask (I get all maternal about these
things!!) is does anyone have a good Highland Nep compost recipe? I
have potted my N. sanguinea and Madagascariensis in Live sphagnum (the
only compost I had except for peat/sand) and they have been growing for
2 months now, but while they are producing pitchers and new leaves, they
are not exactly behaving like weeds. I can't really expect them too,
only being 2" across 'n all, but I think they could perhaps do better in
a Orchid Bark type compost mix. Oh Yes, my Maddy (as I call him - I
hope it's a him-) seems absolutely fine in Highland temperatures, it is
quite happy although the pitchers are not turning very pink.

PS. I got my plants from Paul Harwood (UK) and I would recommend him as a
supplier to people in the UK, postage is about a pound and the plants are very
reasonable (N. Madagascariensis = 6 pounds). He has Lowland plants like
Ampullaria etc. and plenty of Highland. If anyone wants his address I can give
it to them..
