Hi Rick,

You will get more seed if you help the plants out. Deposit
pollen a couple of times each day over the life of the stigma, 2-3 days
after the flower opens. Usually, most of pollen is shed the first
day so that pollen from another new flower will be more abundant and
thus reducing the chances of it getting selfed, which also works BTW,
but not as well.
