Insect Feast

Reading about slugs about a week or two ago made me glad that I
didnt
have any. Now I think there is a different story. I have not caught
any slugs in the act but I cannot think of anyone else to blame for the
large holes appearing in my Sarr. It is a said thing to see my nicely
formed pitchers not able to hold any water because of a huge hole in the
center! The insect responsible didnt even take the time to finish one
off. Instead he/she (politically correct bugs) decided to make a big
hole in every single pitcher.
Before I start taking slug counter-measures, I was wondering if
this
could be some other insect?

>I had an Idea recently of an apparatus consisting of a small submersible
>water pump connected to some fine misting heads (available at Lowes) and
>assuredly other fine hardware stores..)... the pump would draw the water
>in the bottom of the tank up and mist it over atop the plants once or
>twice a day (more or less, whichever is best).. has anybody tried this ever?
>and do you think it is a bad thing to mist the plants with the standing water
>in the bottom of the aquarium?

If anyone lives in the chicago area, there is a store here
called
'American Science and Surplus', which has a ton of great stuff for just
about anything a creative mind could think of. I was just there last
thursday and saw that they had some windshield wiper pumps for $15.
While someone mentioned that they have found these pumps unrelyable, I
would say that for a small application such as spraying an aquarium, a
fish pond pump may be too much.
Plus for only $15 its worth a try!
