A few comments on my set-up that I think need mentioning.......

The 10 gallon tank is sealed with 4 mil clear plastic which keeps a LOT of
heat inside. The grow bulbs are the "Gro-and-Sho" brand 50 watt bulbs.
There are two of these bulbs inside a custom built lid. The incandesents
have built in reflectors which direct the heat & light into the tank. There
are also two fluorescent high output quad tubes that screw into regular
light sockets. The fluorescent lights are on all the time (varies depending
on the photoperiod) and the incandescents are on a separate timer which
turns them on and off in 15 min intervals. They are on more in the winter
to keep up with the cold and less in the summer. The petiolaris group likes
it REALLY warm and they really love it in there.
