Thanks for the picture. How much light a day did it receive? My guess is
that it was not receiving very much and was trying to grow tall enough to
get some.

I'm no expert on VFT culture (Lord knows-I can't even spell "VFT" right).
The plant got full morning sun till 11:30am each day and bright, diffuse
light in the afternoon. I dont think it was light-starved. Plants without
enough light develop broad, short leaves with small traps on the ends, or so
I thought. Maybe I'm wrong about that. This one was definitely producing the
summer leaves you hear about and quite a few of them. It was just a plant I
got for $5 in a nursery store. I repotted it into fresh sphagnum moss stood
it in a little saucer of tap water on the window sill. Seemed to do just fine.
