Last year I was one of the lucky recipients of Darlingtonia californica
seeds from Clarke Brunt. His advice to plant them straight away has paid huge
dividends with a very high germination rate. To follow his excellent example I
have a few packets of seed (about 50 seeds per pack), collected from my own
plants, spare this year. I have sown a few and they have germinated within two
weeks. I would normally donate the spare seeds to a seed bank but the delay
seems to significantly reduce their viability (I have never had any seed bank
seeds of Darlingtonia germinate). I propose to give the seeds to the first few
people to e-mail me with addresses in Europe who are able to plant them very
soon.
