Dear Mike,

> If anyone has a copy of this book, is it good? Is it worth buying?

The book is interesting. It presents us with at least one new
effectively (but not at all validly) published name,
"N.murudensis Culham". The authors call it "ined." but it is AFAIK
still nom.nud. The illustrations are for the largest part
watercolours of varying (sometimes really bad) quality, while
reasonably good photographs of most depicted species do exist. No
taxonomically useful details are shown.

The text offers much history (some of which wrong), very little news,
and some real bugs (the wrong concept of N.stenophylla by Danser is
once again perpetuated, etc.). None of the recent and important
contributions (not the herbarium-only stuff) to our (and the
authors' !) knowledge on the Kalimantan species of _Nepenthes_ is
cited and acknowledged properly. This is really bad style!

So the book is at the best a nice coffe-table publication although
allegedly Drs. Matthew Jebb and Martin Cheek were "scientific
editors".

It will cost you approx. 30 bucks US.

Kind regards
Jan
