Hitler and all that

I really seem to have tweaked someone's tail over my comments about pure
species.

I doubt if the discussion can be helped by accusing me of wanting to be like
Hitler just because I am worried by plants inadvertently swapped or sold as
true species when they are in fact hybrids.

John Boehme, You seem to be confused about the difference between cross
pollination i.e between two plants of the same species which is the norm,
(flowers are arranged to make self pollination difficult) and hybridisation
which is pollination between plants of different species.

True, some plants do hybridise in the wild but not as many as all that due to
limiting factors such as geographical isolation, different flowering times,
insect preferences etc.

Just two more points. 1) You don't have to be offensive to get your
viewpoint across.

2) I really don't mind if you want to grow the plants you do. Why get so
excited if I want to grow ones as near as possible to those found in the
wild?

Peace, brothers and sisters.
