Dear Perry,

There is already a "news and views" section that fulfills these needs
rather aptly.

To which avail? CPN, the "Carnivorous Plant Newspaper"?

This would not serve "nomenclatural" stability.

Page fees could be charged, ICPS could be transformed into the
International Academy of Carnivorous Plant Science (IACPS), a prize
could be awarded to the most outstanding achievement in CP research,
courses and lectures could be held for advanced graduate students of
carnivoroplantology (sarcophagophytology is etymologically more
correct but it sounds a bit too necrophilic in German ears), "The
Final CP Encyclopaedia" could be edited.

Or authors could be paid, ICPS could be transformed into the
International Society of Carnivorous Plant Collection (ISCPC),
Awards of Merit could be awarded to the most dangerous CP hybrid
bred, cheap explantation tours to the most remote/protected CP
habitats on this planet could be organized, a board of CITES
(or anti-CITES) lawyers could augment the staff.

Exaggeration can be fun either...

But I think if it can be managed to hold CPN/ICPS between the
extremes the result will be the best for all subscribers.

Kind regards
Jan
