Drosera "Bannister"

Bannister is a location in Western Australia.

I think that it was originally called Drosera sp."Bannister" and then
correctly renamed Drosera manniana although Alan Lowrie calls it D. manii in
his current catalogue.

There is another pygmy. D. sylvicola which was originally called D. sp.
"North Bannister" until it recieved its correct scientific name.

I think its a pity that plants are sometimes sold under temporary names which
are changed when they are recognised as separate species. Does anyone know if
ti is correct to do this as long as the species name is placed in inverted
commas?
