I like the idea of running water through a bucket of peat. I wonder if
there are advantages or disadvantages to allowing the water to sit in
the peat for a few days before you drain it out?
I like the idea of boiling the peat moss even better, your black tea
would be almost sterilize, but being a married man, I can assure you
that boiling peat moss in my wife's kitchen will not take place any
time soon, if ever (I wonder when she will be visiting her mother out
of state?).
I have a 55 gallon container that I may fill with peat and rain water
and allow to set over the winter months. By spring, the tea should be
good and strong. If I leave the mixture outside in the cold, I should
not have a problem with it turning sour unless it starts to get hot.
