  Hi, you can use tap water for a little while without harming
the plants. Just remember to flush out the pots with rain water
when you get some more. If you must use it for longer than a
couple weeks, do buy some distilled water to flush out your pots
to remove the salts that have built up. Watering them all with
only distilled is a tad bit Overkill, if it's only temporary.
Of course, if you have only a couple tank/terrariums, one
gallon/liter of distilled could last for a while...
