I do not know of the botanical answer to this, but in my experience seeds of _S.
purpurea ssp. purpurea f. heterophylla_ should yield at least *some*
heterophyllous plants. It may be that a packet will give you exclusively all
green plants but it may be that the packet will give you a mix. Looking round
the propagation areas of nurseries I find that nearly all or indeed all of S.
purp. purp. heterophylla seedlings are heteropyhllous.
