Subject: Fragrance from Nepenthes

Perry,

I have noticed a faint aroma being produced by some Nepenthes
hybrids (particularly I seem to recall N. x rokko, which produces
copious amounts of nectar) but I haven't grown these plants for a
while so I can't verify this now. The only species I have come
across so far that I can definitely say produces a smell is N.
clipeata. The aroma is faint but distinctly sweet and the
pitchers appear to attract large numbers of flies.
