My 2 cents
I once tried to feed a cricket to my VFT, and it escaped and retreated
into a large clump of d.adelae, where it remained for about 6 weeks. At
night it would go out and eat holes at the base of S.purpurea pitchers,
and drain the water out.
It escaped recapture for some time until I doused the adelae heavily
while watering and washed the cricket out in the open where I caught it
an it promptly became dinner for one of the pitchers with remaining
water.
for what it's worth,
Michael Sankovich
