Subject: French CP list

OK - don't all rush but Natures Y Pasages has just published it's new CP
list.

This is the largest CP nursery in france - possibly in Europe (and as far as
I know the only Nursery in France specialising primarily in mature CP plants)
(apologies if someone else specialises too!).

Some of the plants will be very difficult to buy elsewhere anywhere and from
personal experience I doubt anyone else carries such a wide range of good
plants (his plants are all in excellent condition - I know, i've visited the
nursery).

For beginners who've grown out of the simplest plants and who want to get a
few rarities but have nothing to swop with,, this is a good place to buy a
few plants to swop with later (assuming you live in France or Europe or are
willing to pay the phyto/CITES charges).

Rough details are as follows:

Minimum order is 1000 French francs (FF) (in French francs only) Payment by
international money order to
Labat Jean-Jacques
32360 Peyrusse-Massas
France
(which is also the address of the Nursery).

Send no payment with order - NyP will send a pro-forma invoice in response to
your order, based on what you want that they still have, when you pay the
invoice, they will ship.

CITES/Phytosan certificates - 25% of total plant order to be added if in
European Community. Elsewhere add 30%.

Non-plant items include new designs of 100% cotton t-shirts (in white) with
colour pictures (artwork, not photos, but they look quite nice in the
advertising) - choices are Drosera longifolia, Sarracenia leucophylla, S.
purpure or Dionaea. Price is 160FF each or 600FF for all four. Universal
size (i.e. one size fits all - which basically means they're large!).

No time to list all the plants (he stocks a very good range) but here are
some samplers:

Aldrovanda (probably not able to ship outside France - legal restrictions)
 90FF
Brocchinia reducta 350FF
Byblis gigantea 120FF

H. nutans 300FF
H. nutans (giant) 200FF

Pinguicula mundi 65FF
Roridula (NOT carnivorous) dentata 400FF or gorgonias 70FF
Sarracenias (various) 100-150FF
S. x Evedine 100FF

U. humboltii 120FF
U. menziesii 65FF
U. quelchii 340FF

Books include the outstanding L'Univers des Plantes Carnivores (320FF), in
french only, but worth seeing for the beautiful photographs which in my
opinion are the only ones to rival those published by the Japanese. This
book was co-authored by Jean-Jacques Labat, the nursery owner and contains at
least one full colour photo of each carnivorous plant genus including
Triphyophyllum. Jean-jacques is no amateur grower so if you can understand
or translate french, the text is worth reading too.

OK, so I like the man, he's a personal friend (but he never writes, he never
calls, he never visits) but he did not ask me to advertise for him and he
doesn't share any profits with me!!! I write all this only because this is a
Nursery CP growers should know of (and even visit if possible).

Please mail JJ direct (snail mail only, he's not networked) if you want to
know more.
His address is at the top where I quote how to send payment.

If I remember (and I probably won't), I'll bring the catalogue to the CPS
Meeting this Saturday (if I can find it!). If anyone there can spot me (yes,
I'm actually planning to attend!!!), they may want to embarass me into paying
my sub!!! (I must pay ICPS too!!!).

Regards

Paul
