Dean,

ahh ... I would run, not walk, back to that guy and buy the other unit.
You could probably auction it off to the list at 3 times what it cost
you!

As for the water, yes it is very good for all the plants. I have one and
use it on my plants. I have seen no problems occuring. A R/O unit is
basically the same kind of equipment that is used to make the pure water
you buy in the stores.
