Dave, Just how are you growing your other highland Neps? How humid,
cold-warm, etc?
Thanx,
John H. Phillips III e-mail:phillips@library.ucsf.edu

Considering I got two e-mails like this before I even got my copy
back from the list, I figure I should reply back to the list.

I have the other highlanders in a 55 gal. tank along with the
Heliamphora. I placed this tank and another downstairs, since
those plants like cooler nights. Well, they get cooler temps
all day long, but they don't seems to mind. They did mind the
5 to 10~F. higher temps (around 75 - 80~F) upstairs, however.
The Nepenthes are getting light from a incandescent 40 watt
bulb, as I haven't finished their new home yet. The bulb is
installed in what I normally see used for lighting reptile tanks.
It's an Al reflector with a socket in the center. I am thinking
about trying some of those new flourscent bulbs which fit into
incandescent sockets, but I think they may not fit because their
base is too wide. Anyway, I just have the lamp clipped on the
side of the terrarium without any sort of lid or plastic wrap.
When the soil looks like it will be dry in another day, I water
(every two or three days). The Heli. are in the second half of
the tank where they do get brighter light and higher humidity
vai a home-made lid and are sitting in water.
