What a lovely setup -- using lottery money for crucial conservation!

Well, you'll be glad to know that at this very moment, a combination
of U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service funds and North Carolina cash raised
through the sale of personalized license plates is being used to buy
some globally significant bog land (which includes several rare
species & cp's) in North Carolina. It's funds under the Endangered
Species Act that are keeping Sarracenia oreophila & S. jonesii alive
in their native habitat here -- so support that Act, U.S. folks, let
your legislators know you like it. And North Carolinian cp'ers, get
your vanity plates now, help save more bogs! The extra fees for the
personalized plates go to the state Recreation and Heritage Trust
Fund, and much of that Fund money goes to land acquisition.
