If you think 600 is a lot, it's a good thing you're not growing
orchids - a 'full set' would be over 30,000, so you'd probably
need a greenhouse the size of Belgium (even without the more than
100,000 hybrids! :-)
But actually there at least several thousand subspecies, varieties,
forms and natural hybrids of CPs from 650-ish spp. even excluding
artificial hybrids. And then of course all the location data and
tautological descriptors like "D.intermedia 'white flower' "
(which is of course... just D.intermedia,) to bulk it out. No -
I think you could easily add a "0" to that and still not have a
"complete" collection :-)
