I haven't been following this thread but FWIW, I think it probably depends on
the plant concerned and so you won't get a definitive answer! Some plants
rely on a particular light/dark regime to tell them when to start flowering
for example. I did read a report once that in some parts of the world
(Alaska?) which are inside the arctic circle, during the summer months where
they have 24hours of daylight, it is possible to grow real monsters of
vegetables!

I suspect most plants would be quite happy with 24 hours of daylight for a
long time but some may start to suffer eventually without a 'rest'. But then
again, temperature needs to be considered too...
