Could someone help me determine if my town tap water is acceptable for
growing & rearing CP's (esp. Sarracenia, Nepenthes, Cephalotus,
Heliamphora, Drosera & Dionea)? Listed below are values relating to
hardness, pH, and some salts; no info on total solids. The water is
fairly soft, but the water treatment plant adds sodium ash to buffer
the naturally low pH. If this water isn't great, would RO work well
under these conditions?
pH 7.2 - 7.3
Alkalynity 18-20 mg/L
Hardness <30 mg/L
Sulfates 10 mg/L
Sodium 8.3 mg/L
Nitrate 1.3 mg/L
Nitrite <0.1 mg/L
Thanks in advance,
Ted DeWitt
