Subject: Regrowing sphagnum moss

I used to have a pot of overgrown VFT (remember?), I repotted it
into three pots with the largest plant in one pot, a bunch of medium
ones in another and all the other itsy bitsy ones in an ice cream tub.
I now use 100% peat moss and I wonder if it is possible to regrow a
carpet of live sphagnum on top. If possible, what do I need and how long
long would it take?
