Welcome Russ,

Venus fly traps are quite tolerant and you should be able to be successful
with them. Where you live, you can just leave the plant outdoors everyday
and it will prosper, but if you would like to have it indoors with you,
just provide it with lots of light, and plenty of water. For potting
medium, my favorite is 1:1 sphagnum peat moss to silica sand, and if
you've got it, top dress with live sphagnum.
