Trent here in Richard's office. I've been using Superthrive on my
Nepenthes for about two years, and I believe it has helped. When I
repot I often give them about a half hour soak in one capful of
Superthrive per two liters of distilled water. I have used a control
group and found the superthrive treated plants recover from repotting
quicker. Seedlings especially.
I am now experimenting with peat tea, as per the instructions in CPN. I
am using it on a few plants to see what may happen, and so far, in only
a few weeks, the new crop of pitchers on the N. alata given the tea seem
more brightly colored. Again, this is not using a control with the
exact same clone. Finally, my night temperatures are beginning to drop,
which all Nepenthes like.
As a side note, the N. Coccineas showing up around Florida originated
from DeRoose Nurseries, a wholesale company in Belgium. FWIW.
Good Growing,
