Hi Peter,

I, too, find this to be oh so true. Probably the question to ask is do
they grow better in such and such mix or condition.

My bogs have live sphagnum growing on the surface with the Sarr rhizome
being partially buried in the mix (1:1 sand, milled sphagnum)

I have a couple of 2 to 3 year old hybrid Sarr that are growing just in
live sphagnum in a plastic saucer used to put under plants to catch
drainage water. I plan to leave them out all winter to see if they will
survive freezing temps.
