Um, I just put the seeds on a not so wet paper towel and place this
towel in a plastic bag or tupperware container which goes into the fridge.
Six weeks seems like what most seeds need and it doesn't give mold much
time to grow. I have just sown the pots in fall, wet them down good
and left them in the garage where they stratified on their own.
