Dear list,
On the topic of Mexican pings and cultivation thereof, I thought I would
share some of my experiences. I have only one Mexican ping species, N.
ehlersae, and it has proven to be a very nice and easy species to grow. I
have them growing in pure silica sand, topped with perlite. Actually, I
could just skip the sand since the roots don't seem to penetrate past the
perlite. Fungus gnats larvae (sciarids?) love these plants, regardless of
the inorganic medium in which these plants are growing. They haven't
flowered for me yet but plantlets were produced, via runners I assume. If
anyone can give me any tips on inducing flowering, I would be grateful.
